Participation of the Communications Engineering Department in the DRT Device Development Workshop in the Technical Equipment Category / Ministry of Defense
The Technical Equipment Division of the Ministry of Defense concluded the activities of the DRT reconnaissance and eavesdropping device repair and development workshop, which lasted for three days, with a closing ceremony to honor the workshop participants. The workshop witnessed wide participation from the division's officers and engineers, along with a group of academics and experts from Al-Nahrain University and the Technological University and representatives of the Military Industrialization Authority, who contributed to providing innovative technical solutions to improve the system's operation and develop its programs. The ceremony was held in the presence of the division's director, Major General Engineer Riyad Hamed Mahmoud, who expressed his thanks and appreciation to all participants for their effective efforts in enhancing electronic warfare capabilities. At the end of the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were distributed in honor of the valuable contributions of all attendees, emphasizing the importance of continuing work to develop the rest of the division's joints in line with modern technological developments. The Technological University/Department of Communications Engineering was represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali oda, Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Salem, Assistant Professor Dr. Hussam Hussein, and Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Ilah.
The start of the final exams for the first round in the Department of Communications Engineering 2024-2025
The honorable Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Afaneen Anwar Abboud, inspected the smooth running of the final exams/first round 2024-2025 for the morning and evening studies and reviewed the work of the examination committees. During her tour of the examination halls, Her Excellency met with a number of students and inquired about their needs and the types of examination questions, directing that all obstacles be removed to ensure the examination process proceeds in accordance with the applicable controls and instructions. She listened to their opinions about the nature of the questions and the extent of their comprehensiveness of the subject curriculum. In turn, the students expressed their happiness with the interest of the Head of the Department in them and meeting all their needs, praying to God for their success.
Department of Communications Engineering participates in Victory Day celebration
The Department of Communications Engineering, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Afanin Anwar Abour, the Administrative Assistant, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussam Hussein Ali, the Head of the Optical Communications Systems Engineering Branch, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Diaa Hassib, and a number of the department's respected professors, participated in the Victory Day celebration on the eleventh of this month of the year 2024, coinciding with the joys of our great people, in which our heroic forces, with all their factions, wrote the most wonderful features of heroism and victories, and in which the sons of the Popular Mobilization Forces supported them in defeating terrorism and its alleged caliphate. Glory and immortality belong to our martyrs, and to all those who sacrificed their lives from all countries so that this country and its people could enjoy security and stability. With their pure blood, we removed the filth of terrorism, and without it, victory would not have been achieved.

The Department of Communications Engineering organizes practical training for its students within the university
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department of Communications Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Afaneen Anwar Abboud, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, the Environment Department, a practical training was held for students of the Wireless Communications Engineering Department on measuring the electromagnetic radiation capacity in the field of mobile phone frequencies and at several points in the university, including near the department, inside the department, laboratories, and on the roof of the Computer Engineering Department. During the training, conclusions were made about the power received directly and that reaches the receiving point after cutting different paths, in order to train practically in application of the theoretical lectures that were studied for the students of the department. The Department of Communications Engineering participates in Korok Company’s invitation to honor the top students
Based on the principle of cooperation between state institutions and the public and private sectors, the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Technology was invited by Korek Telecommunications Company to honor the students who were trained during the summer training period and their commitment and excellence during this period, as well as to hand them certificates of participation. This was done in the presence of the representative of the Head of the Department of Communications Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ali Jabbar Salem, Scientific Assistant of the Department of Communications Engineering, and Eng. Dr. Hussam Hussein Ali, Administrative Assistant of the Department of Communications Engineering, and Eng. Muhammad Rashid Hussein, Head of the Summer Training Unit in the Department.
